"There is a lot of acrylic in this piece. I painted the birds first in gouache, then the background in acrylic. My last step was to touch up the geese with acrylic. Acrylic dries quickly and is easy to use. You can boldly put something down and if it does not work, cover it over. With gouache, on the other hand, you have to think it out carefully. When working with acrylic, I often do my drawing right on the board."
